The Rogers Fire Department would like to remind you that a burning permit is required for any open burning that exceeds the definition of a campfire. Permits can be obtained by calling the Rogers Fire Department at (763)428-3500 and are issued for a 3-day period.

Information on permits can be found on the permits page.  Dog licenses are required for dogs age 6 months and older and are available at City Hall. A one year license is $6.00 and a two year license is $12.00. A current certificate of rabies vaccination is required.

Rogers is divided into two precincts for voting.  Residents living north of Interstate 94 are in precinct one and vote at the Rogers Activity Center (ice arena) on 141st Avenue.  Residents living south of Interstate 94 are in precinct two and vote at the Rogers Community Room (fire station) on Memorial Drive.  For those previously registered, you will receive a postal verification card issued by Hennepin County .
The Rogers City Council has suspended paying for Yard waste disposal for residents effective August 1, 2009.  The following are some options for disposing yard waste:

1.  Starting August 1, 2009 the following fee schedule will apply to all Rogers residents bringing Yard waste materials to the Lynde McCloud site in Maple Grove:

Drop Off Site Hours are Thursday to Saturday 8:00am to 7:00pm  and Sunday 12:00pm to 7:00pm  The Site opens April 1st and closes November 30th. They are also closed during Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day.  The site is located at: 14796 101st Ave N Maple Grove. More information can be found at their website.  2.  Randy's Sanitation also operates a commercial drop site (5625 Quam Ave NE, St. Michael) where residents can deliver brush and yardwaste for a fee.3.  Your local garbage service such as Allied Waste and Randy's Sanitation offer curbside pickup for their existing refuse customers.  Please contact your local service for more information.

3.  Hennepin County Drop Off / Recycling Center accepts many different materials.

Please stop at a Hennepin County Service Center.  The nearest center is located in Maple Grove and is open from Monday to Friday at 9:00am to 6:00pm and Saturdays at 9:00am to 2:00pm (excluding holidays).

Some services that the service center provides are:

  • Drivers Licenses and state IDs
  • Vehicle plates, registration, and tabs
  • DNR licenses and stamps
  • Special licenses and permits such as auctioneers license, dangerous dog registration, Hassan Townhship Permits
  • Birth, Marriage and Death certificates and licenses
  • Passports
  • Property tax information

The City website is the best way to stay up to date on the most up to date information on events, announcements, and resources.  The email notification program also pushes out timely emails to you as an alerternative to viewing the website.
Please note that all properties in the annexation will be temporarily zoned Agriculture until the City adopts the Hassan land use associated with the Hassan Comprehensive Plan. This adoption is a Statutory process due only to the annexation and will conclude with the rezoning of properties to match the previously-adopted land use. The entire process should be complete by the end of the 2010.
