Mayor Jay Bunting was appointed Mayor in June 2012, and subsequently elected to a two-year term beginning 2013. He served as a member of the City Council from 2009 until appointed Mayor in 2012. Mayor Bunting has also served as a member of the Roger Police Reserve (2 yrs.) and the Planning Commission (2 yrs.). He is co-owner of Wayzata Bay Spice Company and Bunting Investment and has lived in Rogers for over 12 years.
Councilmember Don Hall served as an appointed member of the City Council beginning in 2012 before being elected to a full term beginning 2013. He is currently the Executive Vice President of Hardrives, Inc., a family owned company where he has worked for 29 years. Councilmember Hall is an active member of the Rogers Lions and has been a resident of the community since 1995 (Hassan Township until the 2012 annexation into Rogers).
Councilmember Rick Ihli was elected to the City Council with a term beginning 2011. Prior to serving on the Council, Councilmember Ihli also held the position of Planning Commissioner (4 yrs). He works in sales for The Fish Guys in Minneapolis and has been a resident for 16 years.
Councilmember Maureen Stanley was elected to the City Council with a term beginning 2011. She has also served on the planning commission (3 yrs.) and the Hassan-Rogers Joint Annexation Planning Task Force. Councilmember Stanley is a registered nurse, working in the occupational health field and has lived in Rogers since 1989.
Councilmember Darren Jakel was elected to his current term on the Rogers City Council beginning in 2013. This is his second experience serving on the City Council, having previously held the position for a period of four and a half years. Councilmember Jakel has also served on the Park Board, Planning Commission, Police Advisory Commission, and the Rogers Hassan Joint Annexation Committee. He works as the Executive Director of Building Operations for Stuart Companies and has lived in Rogers since 1999.
